Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window.

In the heat of battle, my father wove a tapestry of obscenity, that as far as we know, is still hanging in space over lake Michigan.

Not a quote, but after ten-plus viewings, I think my favorite part is when Ralphie's mom doesn't rat him out after he kicks Fargas's ***. Tears me up every time.

What you might not know, if you've not read the book, is that a great deal of what happens in the movie at Christmastime actually occurs during other parts of the year.

If you've never read, "In God We Trust (All Others Pay Cash)," I highly recommend it. Adult Ralphie reminisces with his old friend Flick, who grew up to own a somewhat seedy bar.

A really enjoyable read.

Merry Christmas to Hornfans everywhere!

I love the editing in the movie, especially the decoding scene in the bathroom. The close-ups of Ralphie's eyes and mouth, with the tongue placed just so in the corner, and the cuts to his pencil and the paper. And then at the end of the scene, when Randy lifts the lid of the toilet, and then it immediately cuts to Ralphie lifting the lid on the red cabbage on the stove ...

I'm sorry it's over. I am going to prepare an "'A Christmas Story' in July" trivia quiz. Be ready, guys ...
