Online Defensive Driving?

I need to take defensive driving and I'm getting all kinds of mail about online courses. Has anyone taken one of these and what kind of feedback can you give me? Obviously, I'm looking for the quickest and easiest route.

I've done a couple of different ones. Unfortunately, there's no quick way out of anything. They make you keep the browser active for a certain amount of time during each section, and they quiz you on the videos to make sure you were listening. You can pass the tests without reading everything, but you can't finish in less than six hours by state law.

I've had some friends that have rented the video at blockbuster, and you can potentially do it without watching any of the videos. You have to call the number after each section and answer questions. But I'm guessing at least a few of the questions are specific to the video.

It's going to be inconvenient no matter what, so just sign up and do a section or two at a time.

Just go to one that the comedy clubs offer. You will still lose 6 hours, but have a good time for less money. Take the Sunday course.

I got free pizza and got to crack wise with the instructor. All in all, a good time.

i'd advise against this. do it online at home on a saturday or something. watch the game and drink beer while you do it. beats sitting in a classroom for 6 hours. you really don't have to pay attention, except to the videos. any moron can pass this thing
defensivedriving.com I believe

I'd advise for the staying home, watching the game, drinking some beer route also. I did the comedy deal and it sucked as much as my Allstate class....both were boring and some jackass in the comedy class actually got booted for trying to be funnier than the instructor.

I've done the online 1 a # of times and I recommend it. Its pretty easy and you can get by not paying full attention. I usually had the tv on and switched back and forth. They do have things that will pop up occaisionally asking you to put in personal information so they know u are paying attention.

Online ones are great cause you can do it anytime and stop whenever u want.

maybe because I am still a student, but I find the comedy class easier. Same $25, but you get free pizza and can usually scame something out of the hotel brunch bar. My extensive education has instilled an ability to zoink out and look like I'm paying attention for hours at a time. I just drive up, flip off the switch, and then drive home with my ticket safely dealt with. Seems like no more than 20 minutes passed.

If you do it online, make sure you have a high speed internet connection. I did an online course about a year ago because I didn't have blocks of time to go to a class. The online method seemed to be a flexible way to do it.

The problem was that I only have dial-up internet and it would take forever to dowbload the videos. The browser would time out while I was downloading and I'd have to start downloading the video all over again.

It took me much longer to complete the course than the six hours a class would have. With a high speed internet connection it should go much faster. And yes, there were questions specific to the video.
