Best site for finding puppies online? Need specific area (Dallas). I have searched Dallas News and the Star Telegram but was wondering if there was a site that was bigger.

No offense but please spare the animal shelter replies. We have a rescue dog already but are looking for something more specific this time.
 
Petfinder.com has listings for breed specific rescue groups. I was looking in there recently, and there are a bunch of mixed breeds under the breed I searched, but there were three or four purebred in Georgetown, in foster homes awaiting adoption, and about three in Dallas of the breed I searched.
Otherwise, check the AKC site for breed specific reputable breeders of the breed you want, especially if you are going to breed them yourself.
The rescue groups will ordinarily have neutered dogs available.
 
Do you have a breed in mind? If so, look up the regional breed club on the AKC website and usually they will have breeders listed or at the very least, they can provide you with info on who to contact to get breeder info. These breeders are going to be your best bet against buying from a puppy farm.
 
Breed of dog is a Yorkie or Yorkie mix. Not interested in breeding so AKC is not required but I'll check it out.
I couldn't find any dogs on craigslist so am not sure if they allow pet postings.

The Link - List of breeders in Texas that are in good standing with the Yorkie AKC National Club. I would contact one of them and see what puppies they have available (off quick glance, there is one in Arlington).
 
Google Yorkshire Terrier rescue groups. I'm sure there will be some in the Dallas area, and Petfinder.com should have some posted in the Dallas area. A fellow HornFan was just telling me she found her dog on there, and highly recommended the site.
 
Alright, i feel stupid. You know I have probably looked on craigslist 5 times to see if they have dogs and couldn't find that. Jesus.

BTW, this dog is for my wife. I feel like I have to say that.
