One reason to watch the NBA

Vol Horn 4 Life

Good Bye To All The Rest!
Regular season.......really? Brooklyn Nets? How did I not see this until now? I know, because I can't stand to watch regular season NBA. Maybe I should pay more attention from now on.

Years ago I was really into the NBA and went to Spurs and Rockets whenever I had the opportunity. That was before players were making eight figure salaries and ticket prices were out of reach for most middle class families.

Now I can pretty much take it, or leave it.

Spurs-Lakers tickets in the upper level were available for like $30 if you got them a few days ahead of time.

The NBA translates well to TV. Courtside seats are a thrill. Listening to the Mavs announcer Humble Billy Hayes (last time I went) is a complete and total whipping

You guys are missing out. Instead of watching college hoops where teams barely figure out where the rim is, checkout NBA Playoffs. Other than NHL best athletes in country. Tonight's example: Warriors vs Nuggets. Let me know what you think.

Corey Joseph with 8 pts, 4 assts and 4 rebs in only 17 minutes, as the Spurs hand the Lakers their worst home playoff loss in franchise history.

You got dat right. Curry and KD are the two best pure shooters. And from anywhere on the court.

Rockets survived for another trip to OKC. Harden was a turnover machine. Plus made only 4 of 12. If he can't play any better than that Rockets will not win another game.

I might go with Ray Allen and Mike Miller, even though Curry and KD are better scorers overall because they are much better at beating guys off the dribble.

All great shooters no doubt, but Curry did shoot over 45% from behind the arc on 600 three point attempts. That was a higher percentage than any of the others on significantly more attempts.

And he's not just a spot up shooter either. He can create his own shots, and he has tremendous range. One of his teammates said he's a threat to score once he crosses half court.

I loved the shot he made the other night in game 4. Curry turned and stared down the Denver bench after releasing the 3-pointer from the corner. The ball barely left his hand when he turned around to look at them. He knew it was going in.

The Thunder have been my consolation in the finals if the Spurs don't make it, but that possibility is over now. I knew they were going to miss Westbrook, but I certainly didn't expect them to get grizzled in five games.

Rough game for Durant - for the most part, he was just having bad luck with good shots not falling, constantly drawing 2 or 3 defenders, and setting his teammates up pretty well (I think he assisted his posts for 3 open dunks in the 4th quarter), but he did play that very last possession rather poorly.

The Spurs are in the Western Conference finals against the Grizzlies and will have home court in the series. I say SA in 6.

I've been looking closely at Duncan's stats and for someone that has been all over the place in FT shooting throughout his career, he sure is consistent this season - a career high 82% - and throughout the playoffs. That could be a big factor, especially if they make it to the finals against the Heat.

The Spurs may be the last of a dying breed in the NBA. Old school teamwork with no inflated egos, or controversies.

I tell you what, these conference finals are pretty good basketball.

I'm really enjoying the Pacers and Heat series that the former tied up tonight, but could easily be 2-0 either way.

Spurs fan all the way, but it's all good.

Can't believe they didn't eject Birdman Andersen today. Not only did Nazr Mohmmed get ejected for doing less to LeBron last series (Stern might as well just admit that fouling a star is different than fouling a bench player), but also the punishment meted out to Andersen for was hardly consistent with the punishment meted out to Hansbrough who basically got a T just for glaring back.
