One Good Thing About Tom Herman's Teams

They don't get blown out (sans TCU 2017). They keep fighting, and they are always in the game late. He definitely makes things exciting!

I keep telling myself it's only year two....its only year two.....but what I'm seeing are teams totally ready for big games and not ready at all for the average teams.

And week after week, seeing teams with lesser talent totally prepared for and totally ready to tear into the Burnt Orange with every ounce of energy they can pour onto the field!

Not a bad thing - we want every team to put a target on the backs of the Horns. That makes Texas the "king of the hill" that everyone wants to topple. Much rather have it that way than being everybody's Homecoming opponent.

Can't/won't argue that, HornHusker. My frustration is that I feel the biggest factor in our losing last night was getting out coached. We gave up too many big plays and got fooled on too many plays. This should NEVER happen with this staff. We give up a TD on our opponents first possession almost every game! I think the argument could be made that coaching was a major factor in the Maryland loss also. For God's sake, their head coach was suspended just days before the game and they played their a$$es off.
Okay, venting and ranting is over. I am a supporter of TH and still think he is the guy, but I would like to see us continue to progress.

I think 6-2 is progress. After Maryland many thought 4-8 was a foregone conclusion. Give this coach and staff three years and I think it’ll start looking like what Mack developed here....

The team was unprepared to play and really has turned in 2 lackluster performances in the past 2 games. However, on top of all of that, we played well enough to get a W if not for the typical week-in and week-out screwing we get from Big12 refs. That still counts as progress from the CS days.

6-2 looks good, yes, but West Virginia, Texas Tech, and Iowa State all look tougher than Oklahoma State right now.
I agree. A four game losing streak is not out of the question. I hope not because these kids have worked very hard, I would hate to see the season take this kind of turn. The B12 has a lot more depth than in the past.

I'll offer that this team's intestinal fortitude will probably not allow a 5 game losing streak.....it's true, last 3 of 4 (not Kansas) will be tough but I feel like we'll win at least 2 if not 3....may even go for four.... (gasp)

I sincerely hope that this is true.
