about halfway through the '05 season, I made a bet with one of my aggie friends...The terms of the bet are which of the 2 QB's will have a higher QB rating in the nfl after 5 years...The loser buys the winner tickets to the 2011 Texas-Texas A&M game...

i still remember vince's sophmore year, getting free tickets to 50 yard line seats in the blue haired alumni section. i was fortunate and unfortunate enough to sit next to an older man w/ a T ring who played for Royal's early 70s championship teams.

he was thoroughly enjoyable telling me about his time playing for coach royal and such. and then he proceeded to tell me that texas will never win w/ vince young and hinted to his being of a certain shade as to the reason why, and thusly not having the intelligence to properly run an office. his quote was that we "had to dumb down the offense for him."

i have never been so happy to disagree w/ someone in my life.

Mad, So what's your point? Or do you have one....So what is more important, being All-Pro or a Pro Bowler...

I bet you could poll everyone at DKR on Saturday night and not one of them could tell you who made the All-Pro team in the NFL last season...It is basically an individual award and isn't looked at as highly as most sports.

The only true measure of the success for a particular season in the NFL is whether or not their wearing a Super Bowl ring. Nobody cares about Pro Bowls or who was on the All-Pro team...

In my eyes, it doesn't matter what kind of NFL career Vince has. He'll always be a winner in my book despite his accomplishmants in the NFL.

when i die, the most proud moment of my life outside of marriage and children will be vince young. there is no doubt in my mind anyone can create more special moments for me in my life.

please note, i've done everything to ensure i will not create those moments.

Putting Vince Young's incredible talent He would still be a remarkable humsn being for all he gives to others and for his recognizing he IS a role model to kids.He not only recognizes it he LIVES it.
Heck he is MY role model.

But

we don't have to put Vince's incredible talent aside tonight we can celebrate with him as a way of saying thank you

Though it was great. The man has represented the University very very well. In addition to his incredible God given talents, he has the Heart of a Champion.

That night in the Rose Bowl watching him perform his magic and getting the chance to boo a stiiting Supreme Court justice twice are memories I will take to my grave.
