On-screen Volume Bar

My desktop computer currently displays the volume bars on the bottom of the screen when I change the volume. I have had three other Dell computers that showed this volume bar on the screen as well. Two of the computers, I formatted and reloaded. One of them I somehow just turned the feature off. Anyway, does anyone know how I can get this bar to show up again on the computers that no longer show it? Also, is it a Dell thing or is this on all computers? I haven't noticed it before on the other computers I have had.

you might be able to find something on dell's website to help get it back up there. i have an hp and they don't have any kind of volume bar so i downloaded microsoft's drivers for their internet keyboard. works fine for me.

this is probably what you need

Thanks. I'll check that stuff out. I am not sure if it is a drivers or software issue though cause it seems like on one laptop I somehow just turned it off and can't get it back up. Thanks for you help.

No, all of the computers I am using have XP on them. That quickset software that he provided the link for does add a volume bar and brightness bar for when both are adjusted, but it is not the green bars that go across the screen like the computer was doing before. Plus, it adds a program that runs in the systray. I might try installing my wireless keyboard software to the laptops later to see if maybe that will add it in.

Try downloading it from Dell's website. Just enter your computer information here and that should list an application that contains that feature.

Were they like this?

If so, then what you want is Logitech iTouch

They were similar to that last picture. I just assumed that it was something built into the operating system as it was there before and not there now on one computer. It really isn't that big of a deal I guess, just wondering if anyone knew of a setting somewhere that might turn it on and off. Oh well.

I hate using the start menu and don't keep anything on my desktop. Quick Start is one of my favorite features of Windows, and I've been using it since they started including it in IE4 and/or Windows 98.
