I have been taking 2 a day for the past 2 years or so. That said, could they start making them any bigger? I mean these things are so small I sometimes am not even sure if I am taking them.

Yeah, he's got to be joking. I am a huge proponent of fish oil supplementation, but you can't skimp on the cheap walmart/sams/costco ****. Most of that stuff has very little EPA or DHA and is mostly various other marine lipids. Artic Oils is a good brand at a reasonable price.

The basic Nature Made ones I take are.432g EPA and .288g DHA and look substantially cheaper than the Arctic Oils you mentioned, even figuring in serving size.
The AHA recommends only 1 g per day unless you have problems..
Why more?

are you guys pregnant? I thought extra fish oil only benfited a woman with child. are there benefits for me? I take an organic multi vitamin but that's about it.

I was just kidding. They are friggin' horse pills. In fact, I was still half gagging when I posted it from the 2 I took after lunch.

I take the 1000mg softgel, 600mg omega-3 fatty acid. What is in the other 400mg?

Regardless these things are huge. I buy the HEB brand but recently bought 1200mg pills from costco that say they are twice the omega-3 as regular (so 1 per day). These look to be even bigger. Good lord.

Supposed to be very good for your heart.

if you take them on an empty stomach, you will get fish belch (even the pills are enteric coated).

i have to take 2 a day because my HDL levels suck like you would not believe (bad genes).

Actually i just looked at the bottle I have.
Nature Made 1200mg tablets. I take two every morning. And yes I concur with the empty stomach fish belch.

I take the prescription capsules Lovaza. My insurance covers them so it is cheaper than buying the otc ones.

I take 2 1200 mg fish oil pills each night with a statin, have been doing it for the past ~2 years due to low HDL levels. Unfortunately, my HDL hasn't changed at all, so I will probably stop the fish oil after my last batch runs out.

I take the flaxseed gel caps (horse size) to avoid the "fish blech". I don't know if it is a coincidence or not, but my psoriasis cleared up soon after I started taking them.
