Omar back in the bigs

I was hoping the Tulowitski injury would make Omar the starter at short, but it looks like they are going with Barmes. However, Omar was called up from AAA on the 30th and hopefully will see some time.

On the same day that Brandon Fahey gets dropped down to AAA by Baltimore. Oh well. Congrats to Omar, he's an amazing talent and has been having a great start to the season in Colorado Springs. I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up as an everyday player in the major leagues before its all said and done.

On a side note with Omar, Jonathan Herrera was also called up at the same time. Jonathan was my first player I ever signed to a pro glove contract (two years ago) and he is my first player that I signed to make it to the Bigs. Pretty neat day for me when I found out.

congrats to Omar!!! been looking at the box scores every day to see if he has played yet--an outstanding baseball player as well as a young man--met him when he was with the A's organization in Midland--was super to my kids--keep it up

Last night Omar was 1 for 3 with a 2B in the Rockies 11-6 loss to the Dodgers.
