my last trip was in 2002 (championship vs. SC), and tickets were not too hard to find. We had tickets before going up, but they also were not hard to find on any corner.
We left the night before the championship game, 6 guys traded off who was driving, got to Omaha around noon, hit a few bars, wtached Texas win another title, hit a few bars and celebrated, and head back home the same night....so i have not comment on lodging.
It was worth the drive though, now thats its best 2 of 3, that trip will never happen again.
Yea, reserve a room now, If you don't already have plane tickets -- it's probably to late.... so you are driving.
For most games (except the last 2-3) you can just walk up to the counter and buy tickets, but better ones are available almost every where. You can get tickets to the last 2-3 games but may have to pay more or get up real early .....
Stay at Harrah's in Council Bluffs. Very close to the ballpark. I've never had trouble getting flights right up until gameday. They're just more expensive.
