I just received a gift certificate for this place and ordered some filets. Has anyone ever had their steaks? and if so were they good and what cuts did you get?

I'm not a real big fan. THey have an odd taste to me, but maybe that's just me. A lot of people really like them, though.

They are ok, but not worth the price and hassle in my opinion. Their hot dogs are probably the best I've had, though again not worth the price ($10 plus shipping for 8).

the filets are not bad, the only steaks worth buying, they have pretty good chicken breast filets, there is a omaha steak store in houston, the problem is that they are way overpriced, i had a gift card, took it over there and bought $200.00 bucks worth of stuff and it wasnt that great, the $20.00/ lb meat you can buy at central market is far superior and actually less per lb than the avg omaha crap.

These are some of the best steaks you can get, a bit pricey but def. worth it.

Allen Brothers steaks are found at some of the best steak places in the country suchs as: Al Biernats, Nick and Sams, Eddie V's, Lawry's, Del Friscos, etc...

These guys supply the top restaurants in Houston. Best filet I have ever had.

Omaha Steaks suck. I got some ribeye a few years ago for Christmas. They were about a half inch thick and worthless. You can get MUCH better at Sam's club for about 1/4 the price.

We have some relative that sends us gifts certs every year. The only thing we order is the stuffed sole fillets and these little potato things. Not worth what they cost, then they pound you with sales calls and send you endless mail trying to get you to order more.

I don't think they're very good. I don't like a piece of meat that's been frozen. Also, the telemarketing blitz they put on you after the sale is unbearable.

The best part about buying their steaks is getting that thick, styrofoam cooler. That thing has come in handy more times than I can count.

If you must use the gift certificate, avoid steak. I, too, love the "little potato things" and the hot dogs. Hamburgers not bad either...

Omaha Steaks truly, truly suck. You can get better steaks from Safeway.

But the aforementioned cooler is probably the most insulated cooler I have ever had.
