I agree. And to think they are having sports like this and cutting out baseball and softball. They are cutting out softball because the USA always wins and baseball because we can't have a dream team thanks to the selfish MLB.

Well, baseball and softball cost a lot more as they require an entirely separate stadium. All they have to do for trampoline is wheel a trampoline into the gymnastics arena. But all in all, I agree. It has no business being a medal sport.

What I found even funnier was that the girls competing weren't even on the gymnastics team. Their whole purpose at the games is to jump up and down on a trampoline.

Expense shouldn't be a factor. Greece was known to be hurting economically but they were able to have stadiums build for them. A potential host city knows they are part of the olympics and should adjust their proposal accoringly. What about field hockey and other sports that they have to build. No the reason is that USA gets medals from these events so they are shutting them down. The sad thing is they are hurting other countries like Japan, Australia and Cuba in it.

Yep, but they keep crap like badminton which is only really played in SE Asia. They also keep handball which isn't really played anywhere. And they keep trampoline which isn't even a sport. Nor is synchronized diving, synchronized swimming, or rhythmic gymnastics.

Apparently the Olympics is supposed to only have sports that nobody cares about except at the Olympics.

it's a systematic attempt to improvee regional medal counts. Did you notice how many Judo medals are awarded? I'd expect there to be more female weighlifting weight classes and a 10,11,12,13,14 and 15m air pistol competition in London.

Nobody but the US wants the US to be at the top. This should suprise no one.

I have a couple of things to add here. I don't really care if they have trampoline. What is incomprehensible to me is WHY IS IT ON MY TV??? NBA made a bad decision there.

Ok... here is the major point of what I want to say. There are sports and then there are athletic endeavors. Gymnastics, diving, syncronised anything, figure skating. NOT sports. Many are VERY VERY athletic, but they are not sports. Sports have an impartial way to score points. Every time we see gymnastics or figure skating they talk about the judges. I have a solution. Get rid of them. There has to be a way to score for it to be a sport.
Now there are some sports that are MUCH less athletic than some of the non sports. Curling comes to mind. Anyway, if you can't score it objectively, get rid of it. Along those lines I have no problem keeping badmiton, because at least you can really say who won.
Also, tell NBC, to cut down on the gynmastics... good lord..... you would nearly think this is fully half of the Olympics.

i actually enjoyed watching this event as well. more so than the gymnastics at least, which i usually fast-forward through. not to mention, this looks a hell of a lot more fun than anything they do in gymnastics.
