I'm trying hard not to toot my own team's horn, but it's really hard to ignore that Nebraska is playing great team defense...and I LOVE great team defense. A top 30 RPI team, top 10 in SOS, and we've held them to 23 points in 28 minutes.

If we hold on and win this game, and win at OSU Saturday (SOS 23, by the way) I think we're gonna force the committee to at least start taking a look at us. Can they really ignore a team that's won vs KSUcks, at aggy, vs. OU and at OSU four straight if that happens?

I'm just saying.

The Huskers are playing some great ball right now, but it might be too little too late. They'll probably need to beat Texas to make the tournament.

40 minutes, 45 points. Good guys prevail, 63-45.

This team is playing REALLY WELL right now.

Kingwood, congrats on the win tonight. You guys played well on the defensive end. However, I don't want to rain on your parade but our guardplay is abyssmal at times. At one point, we turned it over on 5 straight possessions. Some credit goes to your D, but we can flat out suck on the perimeter when we want to....and this was one of those nights.

how would we know when you didn't want to suck on the perimeter but still got beat down? Just asking...

Hook'em!!!

Nebraska is playing some good ball right now. Anybody scouted them yet to see how they match up with Texas, ahead of our game next week?

The Texas Tech game in Lubbock probably worries me more than any other game right at the moment, as the Red Raiders are very good at home, and they will no doubt be looking for some revenge after their embarrassing loss to the Horns in Austin last month. A postseason bid for them is unlikely, so they will probably regard this as their tournament game. We better show up. Aggy did manage to put an impressive beatdown on them in Collie Station last night, which could add to their sense of desperation. They are reeling. If we play like we have been playing for the last few weeks, we'll be fine. Just need to improve our FTs.

The good news for us is that we get both Nebraska and Okie State at home after that. Both dangerous teams who have improved over the last several weeks...but then again, so have we. Should be fun!

I'll go into more detail on our team later, but here's the gist of it right now.

NU plays hard-hat, lunchbucket defense. We don't have a lot of scoring ability on this team, but the fact is that the defense has kept us in most every game except Kansas.

Cookie Miller, who didn't play last night because of a shoulder injury he suffered in College Station, is one of the three or four best point guards in the league. He helps with getting the ball to Maric, he's fearless, and he's one of our best free throw shooters.

Steve Harley is an improving guard...can play either the 1 or 2, but IMO he's more of a 2. Loves the 16 to 18 foot jumpshot...can shoot the three but prefers the midrange game.

Maric has been sensational the last week. Schooled Michael Beasley last week and the Griffin kids last night.

Huskers take smart shots. Early in the conference season they weren't taking high quality shots, but now they are and they are making the most of them.

That's about the gist of it right now.

Nebraska is playing good. If they win @ OSU (which will be tough), they will be 18-9 and on a solid win streak. But those 4 solid wins are also against unranked teams. Should lose to Texas probably, but will beat CU. Depending on how they do in the tourny, it will be close. I still think they will be one of the last teams out.
