Okie State's Luis Flores...

Had an eligibility question. Luis Flores, who was a catcher and pitcher for UH last season, tranferred to Oklahom State after last season. I just assumed he'd have to sit out a year, but I see that he's already playing for the Cowboys.

Are transfer rules different in baseball than in football and basketball?

I'm sure there's someone around here that can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this year was the last year the NCAA allowed college baseball transfers to not have to sit out a year if they transfered. I think that is one of the reasons we got so many: Belt, Whitmer, Tores, Hernandez...

Unless the new legislation is changed, this is the last year for transferring and playing immediately.

thanks. can't believe i was ignorant of this rule. i keep up with college baseball, but guess i don't pay so much attention to transfers like i would in football and basketball.
