Okie State Dismisses William Cole

William Cole kicked off Okie State team. Mack Brown curse continues.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy says three players did not travel to San Diego with the 13th-ranked Cowboys for undisclosed reasons. Gundy also confirmed that sophomore wide receiver William Cole has been dismissed from the team.

Cole played in six games as a freshman after switching from defense to offense, but then missed all of this season after injuring his knee in August drills. TULSA NEWS 12/26
 
I'm startin' to believe in this curse thingy. Refresh my memory ... didn't we quit recruiting him for some reason?
 
I recall recruiting junkies swearing that Mack would "rue the day" that he passed on William Cole. And it just went on and on etc etc etc for several weeks, here and there. Now that the truth comes out, not a William Cole supporter to be found.
 
William Cole is a good example of the internet poster who has never gone to a high school game.

They saw him on FSSW in the 5A CG and thought he was the next coming of Wane McGarity.

One year it was former Tech player that never panned out, Brandon Douglas and to a small extent Darius Johnson of FB Hightower this year.

It happens every year in December. Someone looks good in the CG and posters go nuts wondering why we didn't recruit them.

I think aggy got Roger Holland just because of this

My memory is slightly fuzzy and I welcome corrections. But I believe Mack did make a little last minute run at Cole but wanted to offer him as a DB. Cole then kind of made a "big deal" out of him "turning Texas down" and also had some comments about the Horns being "arrogant" or something to that effect.
