The escalation between the US/NATO and Russia is continuing to ramp up. Obama's last actions were to expel Russian diplomats, threaten more sanctions, and send more troops and military hardware to States bordering Russia. Russia has responded by placing cruise missiles in position to take out the military threats. Whatever Trump plans to do, whether to deescalate or ramp up yet another response, he needs to make up his mind and clarify what the hell is going on.
