Oh, the irony

When we won the basketball regular season but lost to Kansas in the tournament, our friends to the east were quick to tell us that the regular season title really doesn't count -- winning the tournament is what matters.
Now they have won a share of the regular season baseball title, and they're thumping their chests (albeit with less enthusiasm because of the losing streak). But they are reveling in being the conference champion, nonetheless.

Aggy is the master at having it both ways.

And by both ways, I mean they have it with corpsmen AND
sheep.

What will really be interesting is if Texas wins the conference tournament. Last year, the teams were in the exact opposite position. Texas won the regular season title and was the #1 seed in the tournament. A&M was the 5th seed and won the tournament. They immediately proclaimed themselves Big XII champions. This year, A&M wins the regular season title and #1 seed in the tournament. Texas will be the 5th seed and will play in A&M's bracket. I'd bet the farm that if Texas wins the tournament, the Aggies will be singing a different tune than they sang last year.

My view on the tourney will never change. The regular season champ is the Big 12 champion. The tourney is an opportunity for lesser teams to improve their seeding for the NCAA, nothing else. There's 's little incentive for the top tier teams to go all out, and wear our their staff's outside of their scheduled work.

Wow, that texags choke thread had me both laughing at them and feeling sorry for them at the same time.

Never been a more perfect time to say "Poooooooor Aggies."
