Oh NO! We suck again.

Why is it that everytime I read something about College Football it has us sucking? Is it just me being niave, but we aren't going to lose to aggy and sand aggy in the same year. tech will not be in the hunt for a MNC and aggy will continue to be aggy. We are Texas, we are going to be in the hunt going into Dallas and after a win we will control our own destiny. Thats how things are done around here Mr. Campbell and others.

It's not that we'll "suck," given an acceptable definition. It's just that most previews have us losing 3 games, which is perfectly within the realm of possibility. Especially given that the guy who bailed us out of a couple losses last year is now with the Chiefs.

Last time we lost to both Tech and A&M in the same season was 11 years ago. The year before Mack got here. So, while some might say that it won't happen because he hasn't allowed it in his tenure, others could argue that we're due for a season like this. I highly doubt we'll lose to both of them (Coach BAMF won't let us lose at home to A&M), but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I have a bad feeling that we'll all meltdown after the FAU game, just like the ASU game last year. And by then, posts like this will be long forgotten.

No way we lose to A&M again. First of all, it is a home game. Yes they beat us before, but that was because of Colt being hurt. Also, we had lost 3 O linemen from our National championship team. Last year, the few remaining ones were gone, thus, we struggled.

Now look at aggy, their O-line is being almost completely replaced. Think about the Hogs in 2004... they beat us the year before, but the following year, their senior and NFL bound Junior line was gone. Yes, they gave us a good run (thank you Matt Jones) but they ended up with a losing record. This happens all the time with teams that have a massive drop off in O line talent.

3 of 4 D line to replace.

Brand new scheme by a new coaching staff

They will be great at stopping the pass, but LB is thin too.

Aggy wins 5 games this year, we definitely will not be one of them.

Defense wins championships. And why the hell does Hornfans believe that "defense" is not spelled "defense"? This spell checker is seriously messed up.

I, for one, am glad for the muted talk in regards to our expectations. It's gives the guys something to play for rather than something to live up to.

We have a lot of question marks, but young talent. It should be an exciting year

Whether you liked him or not, Greg Robinson figured out the Sand Aggy offense, and Mack has used the same game plan since. There is no reason to believe that Muschamp will not follow suit with some tricks/improvements.

Mizzou is Sand Aggy all over again. Therefore I am most concerned over OU, CU and KU. I cannot see KU having a repeat as their non-conference schedule is stronger this year (even with their contest with Sam Houston.) CU in Boulder could be the toughest game all year.

You can have something figured out but if the matchups are bad you still can come out on the short end of the stick. When I look at our matchups of QBs vs our secondary, I don't feel very good about the games @Tech, @ KU, OU, Mizzou, and @ CU because of those matchups.

I don't think anyone expects us to lose to aggy this year. They lost everyone from the OL/DL, their LBers have to be replaced, and a few of their DB's are gone. They have no WR's and no depth across the board. The cupboard is bare. Fran screwed them.

Tech is a legitimate threat. Their D improved with the new DC, they bring 20? starters back. And its in Lubbock. They will be fired up considering they feel they've been screwed by officials the past couple of years.

OU brings almost everyone back on offense, you know their D will be good.

Kansas and Mizzou bring almost everyone back, their offenses are basically intact meaning they will score a lot.

We have questions about depth at DT, inexperience in the secondary and we are introducing a new scheme. We also have concerns on the OL(although I believe the OL will surprise the experts this year and be dominant next year) we also lack a proven vertical threat in the passing game. Williams, Buckner, Grant, Webber, or Payne need to step up. The RB's are a concern to some but Fozzy and McGee and Chris-O are gonna surprise everyone this year and Fozzy and McGee will be a strong 1-2 punch.

If we can get 1 of Williams, Buckner, Grant, Webber, or Payne to step up as a deep threat we will be in contention for the big 12 title and could possibly win it. If 2 of those guys step up, I think we become favorites for the big 12 title and possible national title contenders. If none step up we will probably be 10-3 or 9-4.

Muschamp will have the D in order. Depth at DT is a concern but I don't think it will be too big a problem.

FAU-Schnelenberger or whatever,will have a plan
Arkie-read above
TT, ou, MU, OSU, aggy and don't forget KU
What about CU in Boulder?
See my point! We better be on task!

The media doesn't all expect us to lose. It's just that there are so many questions on our team compared to other teams in the Big XII such as OU, Tech and Mizzou. I think it could be a great season with many close games that come down to the last minutes. But it could also turn the other way and be a long, frustrating season of breaking in new young talent. I hope it's the first.

. Texas' streak of seven straight seasons with at least 10 wins will end.
The Longhorns don't lack talent, but they drew a killer Big 12 schedule: three 2007 bowl teams from the North division (Colorado, Missouri and Kansas), and they'll play two of those teams on the road. And in addition to facing Oklahoma at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, they must face trendy breakout pick Texas Tech in Lubbock. Burnt orange fans are encouraged to beat the rush and start criticizing offensive coordinator Greg Davis now.
