Ogando goes on DL

Hi, Texanne, I agree.

I'll be at The Ballpark tonight for the game against Arizona. I'll be looking to see who's in the bullpen - report said the Rangers would call up Kirkman.

OK, Colby did his job very well - and great support from the offense in the 9-1 win. Mrs. HHD and I will be back in The Ballpark Saturday for the game against the Astros. Looks like Kirkman will get the start. Some early run support would help a bunch.

Also helped when the Angels blew the lead late and the Dodgers came away with a comeback win. Lead now up to 3.5 games in the AL West.

HHD, Kirkman came in for Oswalt two Saturdays ago at Round Rock. He showed some of why the Rangers have been so high on him, but he never looked like he had real control of the game. RR did win, though.

It will be interesting to see how he fares against big league hitting. Hot and cold last year, IIRC. Perhaps he's more ready now.

Oswalt looked like a AA pitcher for Frisco last night. He just is not ready. It seems as if they will not pull the trigger on Ross to starter for fear that he will end up hurt.

I think Wash is being wise about not putting Ross in the starting rotation.

He is a rookie, he is having great success as a leftie (only leftie we got) middle reliever and has what a 6-0 or 7-0 record? If Wash puts him in the rotation he is risking several things, as well as putting incredible pressure on a rookie and robbing the bullpen of a weapon. The injuries to Holland, Feliz & Ogando won't last all season and RO will eventually work into a place where he can start... maybe after 3 or 4 more games in the minors?

Wash has to lean on Kirkman, perhaps Martin Perez, other pitchers he has in the minors? and the bullpen to grind us through the next approx. 2-4 weeks. Holland should be back in another 1-2 weeks, hopefully. It would also help if the bats would stay hot and win some games by outscoring some opponents.
