"First thing is the academics and the support they give their players," Eletise said. "This is college. This is for your future and I think the support they give their players is really a big key.

"I also am going to look at the relationships the coaches have with the players. Are they close? Are they like a family? Stuff like that.

"The last thing would probably be my relationship with my (future) position coach. I have good relationships with several coaches, so that will be what I'm looking at too."

Hawaii four-star offensive guard Michael Eletise is very excited to pick up a Longhorns offer.

HD: What does an offer like this mean to you, especially considering you have so many of them?

ELETISE: "Aloha! I'm thrilled to have an offer from the University of Texas. I know that it is an amazing program with great traditions. When you think Texas you think football.

HD: Did you have any contact with UT prior to this offer? If so, with who? Did you see this coming?

ELETISE: "This offer was a huge surprise and blessing to me. I don't think the Longhorns were on my radar as a reality until today. And the reverse, I don't think they looked at me till recently. It's hard when you are from Hawaii. Sometimes it seems like a world away."

HD: Would you consider taking a visit to Texas at some point? Have you ever been?

ELETISE: "I have never been to Texas but would love to come!! I am not taking an more unofficial visits this summer. My family is just not able to do it but I would love to continue to build a relationship with the coaches. As we get to know each other better, I would love to consider an official visit."

HD: What makes you the best offensive guard on the West Coast? Don't by shy!

ELETISE: "It's uncomfortable for me to say that I am the best guard in the west, I think there are some really great players out there & I am friends with a lot of them. What I can say is that I am grateful for all the opportunities and being enthusiastic about the game makes me look good.

"I love football and I love to play it. I realize that I am so blessed to be on that field each and every time I step on it. So I work hard to be the best I can. No days off, the grind never stops. I keep learning at camps, from trainers and by watching film."

HD: Do you have a list of top schools? Have you narrowed things down at all?

ELETISE: "I was going to announce a Top Ten this weekend... but now I may need to announce a top 12 or 13 so I have time to get to know the coaches and really process the information. I also need time to pray about it. My faith is important to me and that's part of how I will make the decision.
