Odd Firefox behavior

I switched to Firefox, and overall am quite pleased. But FF is doing two things that are annoying me:

1. I can't run a spellcheck on outgoing mail using Outlook Express. Tried a couple of things to fix it, including searching for an appropriate extension, with no success. And

2. It won't take any new bookmarks. Nor will it, when I attempt to store a bookmark, allow me to access any but four of my folders. Basically I no longer can add bookmarks, and if I could I would not be able to specify which subfolder to store them in because FF refuses to display said subfolders.

Small things, but really really irritating.

On the good side, AdAware is not finding any spyware after I run FF. Which is a dramatic change for the better.

As for the e-mail problem, I would recommend switching to Thunderbird (Mozilla's e-mail client). It seems more stable and offers more features than Outlook Express, and is also free. We imported our address book from Outlook with no problem.

I thought you had to have MS Word on your PC for OE's spellcheck to work...?

I do have word. And it works when I use IE.

I would say it's odd, but then I have come to expect completely random glitches when it comes to computer software.

How are you using IE or Firefox with OE? I don't see how it matters which program is running along side of it.
