odd electrical problem

I tried to install a dimmer switch for the light in Bedroom A. I couldn't get it to work, so I ended up putting the old light switch back on. Now the lights in Bedroom B (next to it) won't come on unless I turn on the lights in Bedroom A. However, I can turn on Bedroom A's lights without turning on B. Does anyone know what the problem is?

You probably hooked up the wires incorrectly. Pull another switch plate on a single switch light and see how the wires are hooked up, then hook that one up the same way.

Touch your tongue to the wires like you do a 9 Volt battery to make sure you are getting a current. Do this with the switch on and off just to be sure.

You didn't reinstall the switch properly.

I am guessing that this is what your wiring should look like:

Replace the plug with one of these:

You should be able to tell which one by the # of wires that go to the switch in room B
