OBL funding Obama's campaign.

I was shocked when another blog site posted proof BO accepted money from a admiited" foreign donor"

but seeing this is beyond words.

It really isn't the name so much as that it is yet another donor who according to our elections laws can NOT donate

except i guess to BO
BO doesn't appear to need no stinkin laws. he makes up his own

and even when proof is offered Bo just goes on breaking our laws.

What I read was that the IP address was from a foreign site. I also read that donations from individuals who are "foreigners, i.e., presumably non-American citizens, is outlawed, not donations from people who claim to be citizens who are using an IP address in a foreign land.

That seems to be the first problem: the confusion between a foreign IP address and whether the donor is actually foreign.

Next, I also read that this bogus donor used a California address. Is there software to catch this? Maybe, maybe not. Should there be individuals who manually check this sort of thing? Maybe, maybe not.

So, what I read was that a foreign IP was used, which doesn't mean the donor is a "foreigner"; and the bogus donor said he was from California. Is that correct?

So let me ask my question again.

This doesn't seem to be quite the deal the GOP zealots are making it to be. The Obama campaign should return the money. There may also be laws prohibiting such bogus donations, meaning, the donor here should be prosecuted for fraud or some such thing.

yes the " donor" used a Calif zip code but the city used ( Abbotabad) did not match the zip code

and yes there are safegurards in place to catch this.

here is an example of BO accepting a donation that was rejected by the Romney campaign.

"watchdog group alleges.

Chris Walker, a British citizen who lives outside London, told The Post he was able to make two $5 donations to President Obama’s campaign this month through its Web site while a similar attempt to give Mitt Romney cash was rejected. It is illegal to knowingly solicit or accept money from foreign citizens.

Walker said he used his actual street address in England but entered Arkansas as his state with the Schenectady, NY, ZIP code of 12345.

“When I did Romney’s, the payment got rejected on the grounds that the address on the card did not match the address that I entered,” he said. “Romney’s Web site wanted the code from the back of card. Barack Obama’s didn’t.”

Not quite deal some make it?
Perham How do you know " How many foreign donors has BO accepted money from?

I agree that this practice should be stopped by the Obama campaign.

That this topic is even an issue, and the way it is being presented (and defended) tells me that the Romney supporters aren't keeping their eyes on the ball. The quality of their arguments also tells me they aren't all that bright. They also are basically saying it's ok for the fake donor to break laws.

per??
"They also are basically saying it's ok for the fake donor to break laws. "
You seem more concerned about the fake OBL than you do about the knowledge that BO has and is accepting money ILLEGALY from foreign donors.

I am amazed at how you have turned this into a criticism of Romney and his supporters.

Hmm, since the dollar amounts are what, about $25 (there were some news reports of another case where the amounts were two deposits of $5 each), you seem to be focusing on the wrong thing.

Is a fake $25 donation from a fake OBL going to corrupt our government or political process? Is it an egregious violation of campaign finance law? To you it is, it appears.

This was a "gotcha" project which seemed to resonate with you. I've said it's wrong and the O campaign should stop it.

But you hear the "illegal foreign donor" bell ring and you can't help but drool. The issue has been pre-defined and chewed for you and all you have to do now is digest it.

This is not a criticism of Romney. It is a criticism, in part, of his supporters. That you are so blind to the big issues to think this is a major one is sad. We have pacs and super pacs funneling millions, hundreds of millions in fact, of dollars into the campaign and you choose to get upset over this? Give me a break.

As I said, you have been given the issue over which to be outraged and you take the bait, like all non-thinking sheep.

We have too many like you in both political parties.

per
since you seem to know so much How many foreign donors has BO accepted money from and how much is the amount accepted by the BO campaign? is it thousands? have they donted millions?

Or do you actually think the OBL donor, the Red State blogger donor and the British citizen donor are the only ones?

Per, the problem is the more money that comes from foreign countries the bigger their influence is on our Presidentual election. Yet, he is breaking the law and really doesn't sem to care. Obama doesn't have to report anything under $200, yet he is asking for donors from one of his websites to donate no more than $200. It's pretty obvious he knows where the money is coming from. Why wouldn't he want more than $200 on that website. I never met a politician that didn't need more money for his campaign. I'm glad you think it's wrong but really this is just one of a thousand things this President does and is not being made an issue by the main stream media. I think it's important that the American people know who they are voting for. Because many don't know that he has no integrity at all and has proven it over and over again.

This proves Christie is capable of being objective without regard to partisanship. So I suppose you respect Christie's opinion that Obama has been a disaster for the economy?

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Christie may be a viable GOP candidate for Pres, but he's gotta lose some weight.
