Obamacare cause of health care inflation?

We've watched pre and post Obamacare as medical costs have increased at double digit rates, even in these times of low inflation and low interest rates. Many seem willing to lay all the blame at the feet of the President and Democrats in Congress.

I think there are other culprits that have to be brought in line. As with big banks, welfare, etc. there are a lot of people who don't contribute much who take in an outsize share of this country's bounty.

You read about Hospital management millionaires and wonder how much of their wealth comes from selling tylenols for $20 each. Non-profits are no better.

Here's a story from Boston that I imagine could happen anywhere. The Link

There are places within the medical
industry that treat unsophisticated consumers with less decency and restraint than one would expect of used car salesmen.

Health care inflation is primarily the result of monopolistic cartels in the pharmaceutical, health, and insurance industries. Costs have been rising triple the rate of general inflation for over two decades. Obamacare is merely a symptom of the cause and has accelerated the increase in costs.

The economy of the United States (and the governmental apparatus) have been captured by big industry. This is true with respect to finance (big banking), agriculture (Monsanto, etc.), health, and any industry headed by few players with big dollars. Obama, the Republicans, and the Democrats for the most part are nothing but pawns who mislead the public in order to satisfy those with influence.

No question doc. By the way, I don't know if you are a family practice physician, but if you are I congratulate you as being part the folks with a chance to bring some sanity and value for the dollar to this health care delivery process.

I recently had a discussion with a few of my friends, who are in the health care industry (nurses, physicians, pharmacists, physical & occupational therapists, etc), along with my wife, who holds a MHA, about an article in TIME magazine, namely The Bitter Pill. Lets just say Musburger gave us a grave reality of what healthcare in this country is really like.

I encourage you all to read it, you will not be disappointed.

What Musburger says is dead on....excepting that Gov't has now become its very own big industry, and alone in the industry it makes the rules and prints the money. Yes, it still panders to the giant companies since the creation of the famous CPT code, healthcare implementation is per discretion of CMS. With Obama care it only becomes more powerful.

Do not forget the mafia - aka GPO's which add major cost to the system by restricting the free market forces. The graft is unreal.
