Obama with another 'F you' to Congress

Come now, Leftwith, did our president really tell congress "f you"? Your choice of verbiage makes you sound like you're twelve years old and eager to try out bad words.

Disagree wih the OP. The giant "F you" was to the American people. This president, in true Chavez form, is going to do what he wants, when he wants, and he does not give a crap that we are speeding toward bankrupcty. He also does not give a crap what the constitution says about who has the authority to appropriate such funding.

yes the money is under the State Dept but BO is the one who sogned off on ignoring the vote of congress. Will the Dems not say a thing?

The Department of State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations Act of 2012 contained a provision that said none of the funds “may be obligated or expended with respect to providing funds to the Palestinian Authority.”

In November, the US Congress released $40 million but the State Department had expressed concern about being able to provide the necessary funding to address the dire economic and humanitarian hardship facing Palestinians.

White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said the funds were aimed at “ensuring the continued viability of the moderate PA government under the leadership of president Mahmoud Abbas and prime minister Salam Fayyad.”

“The PA has recognised Israel’s right to exist, renounced violence, and accepted previous agreements, including the Roadmap,” he said, referring to the peace plan proposed by the so-called Middle East Quartet — United States, the European Union, Russia and the United Nations.

“The United States is committed to a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, including a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” he added.

Satchel, you are an American and you are pleased that as we are 14 Trillion in debt, that we keep raising the debt ceiling, that we still have high unemployment, that our President just gives over a hundred million dollars to a foreign entity that has not a damn thing to do with this country?

Damn it. Wake up people. We are broke. Stop giving money to other countries. Where the F is it coming from? The taxpayers is where. Our pockets. Our purchasing power is lost every time we give money to other countries.

As as for Jews voting for Obama.... who cares? Every candidate gets on their knees about supporting Israel. Its a mandatory talking and campaigning point. Stop it. Stop all of it.
 
No supporter has explained how giving millions of money we have to borrow to them is in our national interests

and I can't find any link showing the PA has said they will recognize israel. Abbas said he will never revofnize israel and just Friday the head of hamas has said they would NEVER recognize Israel.

so when did the PA say they would recognize Israel? Can someone provide a link?

This from Sept in NYC during a meeting with clinton at UN:
"The representatives joined Ashton and Clinton in order to formulate another proposal, according to which the Palestinian Authority will hold direct negotiations with Israel based on the June 4 1967 borders with land swaps. In return, Abbas is required to recognize Israel as a Jewish state and declare the end of the conflict, while agreeing to appropriate security arrangements.

However, the meeting ended several hours later due to Abbas' refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish State. In addition, certain disagreements between the American and European positions remained unsolved. "The Link

The key, I believe, is that the PA is more than happy to recognize that Israel does in fact exist. It will not recognize Israel as "a Jewish state". It wants to gain the ability to overtake Israel by numbers through colonization. If a democratic Israel was not a "Jewish state", it would simply be absorbed by the Arabs and Palestinians.
 
It certainly wasn't illegal if you accept at Face value that assisting the PA is in our national security interest. I find that an incredible stretch since as much as the PLO hates us, they're not the ones planning suicide bombings on US soil as far as I've heard.
