Who would you vote for if these were the Dem/Repub nominees in 2012?

Depends, If Mitt admits his mistake in Romneycare, then I could vote for him. But if he tries to differentiate his pig for O's, then I sit this one out.

I understand the need to do something about healthcare costs, but Romneycare was not the answer for Mass., and Obamacare is not the answer for the rest of us.

However, it appears as if somebody is scared of Mitt..

I live in Texas. If it were Romney v. Obama, Romney would win Texas. Because I know that fact, I would vote 3rd party. It is a bit of a luxury, but one I feel I would have.

Wow Sangre. You would really vote for Osama bin Laden? Wow. I don't think I ever heard a Bush hater make such a claim. I know you are joking. But wow.

Just an uninformed opinion on my part, but I think Romney is the only GOP candidate that can beat Obama. Of all the other candidates that have been bandied about, I just don't see them beating Obama.

Of course a lot can happen in 18 months, but pending any dramatic event or a complete collapse of the economy, I feel Romney is the GOPs only chance.

I think Tim Pawlenty or Mitch Daniel will end up being the GOP candidate. Some middle America, somewhat moderate governor. This makes the most sense to me. The GOP people being discussed now are mainly just attention whores who want the spotlight, but have no real staying power to them at all.

Christie...don't think he'll run. I think his chances would be hurt in the general election because if he did run and get nominated he'd have the same "emerging " candidate feel that Obama did. Just my opinion, but I think that the general voting public has been surprised, in a not so good way, by how liberal Obama has been.

Because of the similar sentiment, West isn't needed as a running mate in the general election. He would help in the primary, but the general voting public would see him as too conservative and the true
conservatives are going to vote for anyone other than Obama anyway.

Romney sticks to a safe popular appeal runnig mate and his notable strength with wall street and economic issues should make him a very formidable challenge to Obama.

If BO knew anything about economics, he would have already sewn up a second term. With the economy shaky and his only defense "spinnig" economic data that has been almost completely manipulated by his guys, Romney will be tough for him.
