We know the mission/ ideology of both organizations, each of whom believe We should be killed ,isn't likely to change.
What can we get out of such talks with groups whose goal is our demise?

reading comprehension might help you. No one on this thread indicated their desire to invade Egypt. No one even intimated it. Your comment is a gross misrepresentation of what 6721 said. He seemed to clearly say he doesn't know what productive talks can be had when talking with someone whose desire is to destroy your culture and nation, and to do so through violence.

I was glad to hear Mr. President say that he wants the Taliban included in the new Afghan government. Now that makes total sense doesn't it? We did spend way too much money in Afghanistan for a very risky nation building exercise with a great change of failure. That is bad enough, but then to say you want our enemy who actively sided and protected al Qaeda included in the new government is beyond me.
