Obama held what was billed as a "grassroots" fundaiser in Miami
the prices started at $44.00, certainly in the grass roots range.
Here from Politico
"-- A low-dollar fundraiser here Monday felt like a throwback to the 2008 campaign.

There was the same old soundtrack – including “City of Blinding Lights” by U2, the president’s 2008 anthem -- the enthusiastic organizers and the abundant appeals for supporters to rally behind President Obama.

The one missing element? Overflowing crowds.

Granted, it was a fundraiser, not a free rally. But the empty seats were hard to miss.

The top level of the 2,200-seat concert hall at the Adrienne Arsht Center for Performing Arts was entirely empty, as were the seats along the side of the second and third levels.

"The expectation was 900," a Democratic official said, and more than 980 tickets were sold.

Tickets for the Gen 44 event started at $44, the official said. "

IF as the Dem official tried to spin it they only "expected" 900 why would you book a 2200 seat arena? There are several other arenas in the Miami area that hold less than 1000 .That certainly would have looked better than a pretty empty venue wouldn't it?

he needs to get back to the empty promises and change rhetoric no matter how silly he feels doing it. His core followers will believe him.

1. Blame the rich for all problems
2. Promise the world to everyone not rich at the expense of the rich
3. ?
4. Profit, or deficit as is the case in this situation

$44 for a political fundraiser is prohibitive for the majority of americans.

I could afford it, but i could think of about a trillion things i would rather do with that money.

His bigger problem fundswise is that the hedge fund managers who funded his campaign last time because they thought they were buying protection from taxing their gains as regular income now realize that the fact that he has a couple of Ivy League degrees does not necessarily mean he is part of the club.
