Obama Budget Defeated 414-0

President Obama's joke of a budget was voted down 414-0 in the House of Representatives.Obviously, this document was just a campaign brochure for him to use in the fall to show how generous he is to those who are looking for free stuff, bailouts and handouts. Unfortunately for him, even the Democrats in the house were not impressed.

I realize this wasn't going to pass byt why did not one single Dem vote for it?
Pelosi? Wasserman Shultz?
why not a single Dem vote in support of BO?

Are Presidential budgets normally passed? I thought they were just used as the President's recommendations from which Congress would then use to draft a budget that could get passed but would somewhat stick to the President's overall recommendations.

I don't think very many would have expected this budget to pass so not sure what your original point really is, except to find a way to slam President Obama. What it is time for is time for Congress to do their jobs and stop voting on things they know won't pass.

and yet in years past same party pols HAVE voted for a POTUS budget to show support for the POTUS and the party.

other than Bo budgets has any POTUS's budget not gotten a single same party vote on the House floor>

Clinton's budgets got Dem votes even when the budget failed.

Did any GOP POTUS budget fail to receive a single GOP vote on the House floor? I ask because I do not know

MrD?
I thought Clinton's 93 budget failed in House vote even though some Dems did vote for it?

edit to add. Clinton's 93 budget did pass the house by one vote but it did pass. 41 dems voted against it ..

Has there ever been another time when not a single member of the POTUS party voted for the POTUS budget

I love the use of "easily" in the title and the reference to "overwhelmingly" in the body of the article. In both instances the only word to use is "unanimously." It was 414-0. Easy and overwhelming are understatements of the year. Make sure you temper the Obama embarassment for the reader there, Yahoo.

Rex I agree. The Yahoo article really tries to soften the rebuke, including a word about the mean old Republicans, ordering a vote on the President's proposal. How dare they do such a thing.

Actually, this is pretty standard....

House Democrats floated three of President Reagan's budgets in the 1980s. Those budgets collected 28, 15 and one votes, respectively.

The House has passed budgets and will this time.

Reid does not bring budgets to the floor. Nothing in 1,063 days for the Senate.

They both pass budgets, then a joint committee between the two hash out a compromise between the two houses. This gets done it is passed and sent to the President.

The Senate refuses to do their job, why might I ask? They won't even bring the House budget to a vote? Why?

I will tell you why, the pressure on Democrats up for election will be too great for them not to pass the reasonable House budget.

This is really sad. Apparently the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget now isn't even advocating for a balanced budget anymore. Instead, they are pushing to "stabilize the debt." Apparently that's as good as it gets now.

So that means that you don't even try?

The Senate could easily take the House Budget do it's markings, pass it and then both houses could hammer it out.

The reason the Democrats don't care is that they passed a budget in 2009 that works for 10 years. They are working off of that....this is nothing but I got what I wanted in 2009 and we are stuck with it.

The Democrats in the Senate are standing there and giving the bird to the country, plain and simple. Regardless of the Presidential election, the Senate and House will be Republican in 2013.

If I remember my history , there was one vote against going to war against Japan. Obama's budget vote was worse than declaring war on Japan??
