Just more evidence of how little the thought the average liberal puts into any of their world views. All of these so-called "unintended consequences" were pretty damn obvious before the bill was passed. Unfortunately, liberal policies have a lot of "unintended consequences" which are obvious to everyone except liberals.
Obama called the head of the AFL-CIO at their national meeting personally and asked him not to hold a vote on repealing Obamacare. In return, Obama offered to meet with the labor union heads and hear their grivances.
The AFL-CIO complied with BO's request and expected some kind of favor, but at the Friday meeting, Obama told them he wasn't going to exempt employees that have multi-employer insurance (which is what the Unions want) from Obamacare. That means those employees will have to go to the Exchanges. That means they won't need Unions anymore. It's a very big blow to the unions, whose membership is steadily declining anyway.
If Obama did exempt employees of these multi-employer insurance funds, it would mean billions of dollars in reduced revenue every year for Obamacare and Obamacare can't afford it.
