OARS rafting trips

Sounds like fun. One nice thing about rafting is that you can really put yourself in the hands of the guide and just have a good time. Kinda turn your mind off, you know? As a teen-only adventure it sounds like a blast. I think there are similar trips for teens up at Boundary Waters if yall prefer canoing.

If you are interested in parent-child bonding I'd suggest a long canoe trip. You can do the upper missourri rive up in Montana. Outfitters will rent canoes, life jackets, paddles, coolers, etc. All you would need to bring is clothes, a tent, food and a sleeping bag. It won't have the whitewater of a rafting trip, but its plenty of fun and you can fish if you want. There is some history along the way, with Lewis & Clark stops, as well as pioneer cabins. I've also done a long trip down the Big Salmon / Yukon in Canada, but just getting there is pretty pricy. A 13 day trip from Big Salmon down to Dawson City with my father while in college is probably my favorite thing, ever. He died about a year later, so it was amazing to have had those two weeks just man to man. Either trip you don't need a guide for, and amateurs can certainly handle it. You could go down the Yukon or Missourri and never talk to a single other person but those in your party.
