really super news.  turbo stuff.  andrus is as good a tackle as there is this year, and bagging him would be huge.

apparently john theus tried to come at the same time but was unable to make it work.  john is set for the 29th and 30th. those two visits could potentially set the stage for two stellar 'horn tackles in addition to the excellent pair we already have committed, kennedy estelle and camrhon hughes. it's a lot to hope for to bring in all four of these outstanding tackles, but it would totally eliminate our manpower shortage at the two tackle spots for several years, if all four are as good as thought, develop as expected, and remain healthy

very, very important week.

earlier this evening andrus tweeted this:

Can't wait to visit THE University of Texas

sweet.  for us AND for him, i bet. The University of Texas can't wait either!

in other news, he has also moved up the espn 150 from 22nd to 17th.  good to see espn letting the cream rise.  don't know what is taking them so long to catch onto curtis riser, however.

interesting that theus has not tweeted any comment or even mentioned the date of the visit in a tweet.  not sure that means anything, but there it is.

there was talk of his coming to one of the j-days, but that didn't work out.  this will be his first look at the program, school, and city, quite likely.  maybe the first visit to the state.  haven't seen anything said about that.

fortunately, he is accustomed to heat, but the humidity in central texas might catch his attention.  if so, we need to remind him that jimmy johnson chose austin to condition his case-hardened teams that set the nfl on its ear.  : )

one thing that troubles me just a bit is that andrus definitely seems to enjoy teasing fan bases, so i'm not sure how seriously to take some of the things he says.  he has a pretty strong sense of irony and doesn't take all the hoopla to heart.  he may be teasing us with some of his comments, but i don't begin to think that would mean he has a negative opinion toward us as a program and school.  not necessarily, anyway.

all in all, i am very positive about this situation, and i think once andrus gets to see for himself what we are like that his interest will become more pointed.  at least, that's what i am hoping, based on that sort of response from a number of youngsters.  you can hardly blame someone who hasn't been here for being skeptical.  i certainly would be.  but if he is the kid i think he is, i think he's going to like this place.

my 2, anyway.   put that together with 50¢(us) and it'll get you a good start toward a bagel if you don't have to have the cream cheese.

OK, but if he was boating with Re-peat & he fell out, who would be left???

It seems the visit went well. I like this kid, he doesn't say a lot and chooses his words carefully. He is visiting a lot of top schools and isn't on any ego trip.
