Number of towel uses between washings

How many times will you use a towel before sending it through the washing machine? Growing up I would have never used one more than once. But when I got to college and mom wasn't doing the laundry I bought into the idea that "you should be clean when you get out of the shower..."

Now, I don't go as long as I did in college but I'm still not back to a one use only policy.

finally, a topic with real life implications. I will adjust my life accordingly after reviewing this discussion.

Myself? Somewhere between a week or two (7-14 showers/baths). Maybe I am some outlaw of bath towels.

I try to keep track of which end was used to dry my junk and which end was used to dry my face and hair. Once I lose track of which end was which, it's time for a new towel. Sometimes daily, sometimes weekly.

Probably too long between washes. I do subscribe to the idea that you're clean coming out so it should last a while. But its more out of laziness.

i use two towels, one for in the morning before work and one at night, after the gym. i let them go 2 weeks, then it is wash & bleach time.

also a week to a week and a half here. of course the key to this is hanging the towel to dry somewhere with good circulation. if your towel is just crumpled up somewhere it'll get nasty faster.

chuychanga, you need one of these.

At least a couple of weeks. My God, some of you are anal. If you've just left the shower, you're clean, right? How often does a clean towel need to be washed? Not that often you freaks.
