apparently we're going to front that guy on nebraska with no backside help until he proves he can't make an easy layup. what the **** kind of defensive strategy is that?
it also doesn't help that we've dropped 2 uncontested rebounds back to nebraska for a 3 and a layup.
denying the entry with no backside help and no pressure on the pass is pretty damn stupid. unless you have a decided athletic advantage and can jump high enough to make the pass almost impossible. atchley and wagmene can't do that. therefore, 3 easy layups on 3 over the top entry passes. people run the pick and roll all the time, but that doesn't make running it with jd lewis and ian mooney a good move.
and we have to be setting some sort of 1 and 1 front end misses record these last 3 games.
Ok well the STRATEGY is to deny the entry with help to the back side....I can guarantee that Coach Barnes isn't telling his guys to not worry about the backside.
At halftime when Fox was showing DJ being recognized for his GPA, they said he finished HS at Ft Bend Hightower. I thought he went to Aldine Eisenhower.
There was a sequence where there was a basket by nebraska, a lazy inbounds pass, another basket, two missed FTs by James, another basket for nebraska, and the momentum was completely gone.
