Does that mean we'll start being mean again?

Here's one for y'all. I live below the Mason-Dixon, and it's suppose to be -2 degrees outside tomorrow. You Global Warming chicken littles are crazy.

See...back to normal.:hookem:

I'm a global warming agnostic and skeptic. I know there's a lot of money going both directions, and I don't think any of us know what the truth really is. However, when I hear people in the US say that global warming is phony because of a few days or even weeks in which it's unseasonably cold in the US, I have to chuckle a little. Though this year and last year have been colder than usual in the US, it has been warmer than usual in other places, such as Europe. Last winter was very warm here, and though this winter has been significantly cooler than last year's it is still warmer than normal.

This.

It seems clear that global warming is happening at a slow, incremental pace. Sure, there are areas of the earth that have gotten colder, but there are more areas that have gotten warmer. Sure, there are days, weeks, or even months that have gotten colder, but there are more days, weeks, and months that have gotten warmer.

I don't know whether humans are contributing to global warming, whether the consequences for humans will be significant, or whether humans can do anything about it. Knee-jerk liberals are wrong to insist that the answers to these questions are "yes", and knee-jerk conservatives are wrong to insist that the answers are "no".

My only conviction about this issue is that the stakes are high enough to justify a significant investment in scientific research. If we are destroying the earth, I want to know before it is too late. If we aren't, I want reasonable reassurance of that fact.
