(as stated on a below post now...we're now 5th...UCLA moved in front of us after their win over Stanford. Tenn stays at 1 after the loss to Ark)

With the win over OU..TX is temporarily now #4 in RPI (moving in front of Duke; Duke plays here shortly vs Clemson). Not a big deal, but just FYI

This will matter not at all to Jay Bilas.

You have to seed a team higher because you "know that they are better", wins, losses and rpi are meaningless.

Good point Tom. Jay knows more than the coaches, the media, and SOS. Jay should also be able to predict all victories the rest of March and April.

Yeah I know we all think Kansas is one of the best teams in the country but at some point don't they have to win a game against a team of substance? If they win tomorrow against Texas, that will be the first win I think most people would be impressed by this season. Hardly the most impressive resume for a potential one seed.

I think I heard Rick Barnes say of Kansas that they are the best team we have played all year long. I don't know if he is just propping up the conference or if he means it. But he has played enough top teams this year to know of what he speaks. So if Rick is serious and telling the truth, I side with him that Kansas is that good of a team.

If we beat them I want everybody thinking they are the **** but that we are just a tad bit better. Not that they are maybe overrated and that a victory over them is no big deal.

tenn and ucla in close games

unc playing a play or die clemson tomorrow

we play kansas

a lot of things could change before the selection show

They just showed a side by side stat sheet for Texas and Kansas on the ESPN wrap up show.

Texas had better credentials in every column, and Jay was asked if he would still seed Kansas ahead of Texas if Texas beat them head to head for a second time in Kansas City.

Jay Bilas: Yes, I just think that Kansas is the better team.

Well, Jay did just say that the winner of our game should get Tennessee's #1.

If we win, maybe Memphis to Detroit, and Texas to Houston? Nobody could complain about us playing close to home if that were to happen.

I saw the same thing you did. We didn't have them beat in every column. The had us beat in overall record and Sub-100 losses (we had 1, they had none). We had them in RPI, SOS and record vs. RPI Top 50 (11-3 to their 7-2). So we had them in 3 out of 5 categories.

Hey, I am trying to overstate my case here.

I guess head to head wasn't one of the line items.

They did talk about it, though....the even talked about it happening again and it still didn't matter to my new best friend Jay Bilas.

The guy has just been getting on my nerves lately.....in case no one has noticed.
