".... The NCAA's decision, which was originally announced in Nov. 2016, came as a response to news that a former ND student athletic trainer violated NCAA ethical conduct rules when she committed academic misconduct for two football players and provided six other football players with impermissible academic extra benefits. One additional Irish football player committed academic misconduct on his own...."

It is my harsh hard-core point of view that Jesus would say the pursuit of glory and riches is incompatible with a life focused on God. The message was clear: It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get into heaven. I believe that message was intended to remind everyone that we will be corrupted when the money and the glory makes all the decisions.

I say this not as a preacher but because it was Notre Dame.

bystander,

What do you think He would say about that business across town that was supported by ND and all players and recruits visited? No, Dusty, Billy, and Frank did not write a song about this one. :beertoast:

I seem to recall that Jesus left Chicago, bound for New Orleans... he was going to make muddy water into wine...

Ha...

I wasn't trying to be a hard-*** on Notre Dame but the whole big shot thing gets on my nerves given who they're supposed to represent.

ND & Baylor are "fine examples", and I'm Baptist. What is so alarming is the "faithful" of each denomination won't listen to the truth about the schools and their leadership.

There's a lot of delusion and rationalization in this world. No doubt and those two are leading the pack in many ways.

"Notre Dame's national standing in total wins drops from second to sixth, behind Michigan (943), Texas (898), Ohio State (898), Nebraska (893) and Alabama (891) "

I'll accept those forfeited wins that keep the Horns tied for second place all-time wins trailing Meatchicken...

However, it is serious time for the Horns to get back to winning!

Not sure what all those "faithful" are faithful to....but it isn't God.

I was raised a Methodist, before converting to Catholicism. We see how that whole "PROBATION MANIA!!" played out on the Hilltop.

And given the NCAA un-vacated those 1,000+/- vacated wins at Penn State, not holding my breath that us good Catholics won't get back those measly 21 wins.
