Watched the video. The mother needs to get the same punishment the dad has coming to him. The very suggestion that she has an excuse is total bs.
I read that in the Chronical this am.

The video shows a man in a T-shirt repeatedly striking a teenage girl with a belt and commanding her to “bend the (expletive) over.”
A woman is heard going along with the beating, at one point shouting, “You turn over like a 16-year-old and take it, like a grown woman!”
The note accompanying the video said Hillary Adams suffered from ataxic cerebral palsy that fueled a passion for technology that was forbidden by her father's “backward” views.
It urges compassion for the wife, who has since left the marriage.
“Judge William Adams is not fit to be anywhere near the law system if he can't even exercise fit judgment as a parent himself,” the note says.[

When asked if he felt he was going to face any suspension or discipline from the state over the video Adams responded, "In my mind I have not done anything wrong other than discipline my child when she was caught stealing. I did lose my temper, I've apologized... it looks worse than it is."

he needs to be fired now. The Mother's exucse that she only did what he told her is BS. She didn't sound like an abused wife when she told the 16 y o to take it like a woman. She was pretty forcefull herself

He does sound sick. Alas, he's probably par for the course for Texas judges.

The young person had also been interviewed by a child psychologist who believed the child.
Judge Adams also agreed with a lawyer who claimed all children are 'fantasizers' and their testimony should just be ignored.
