Not To Whine Too Much

I have made multiple posts crediting the LSU Tigers on their win. They did a much better job in clutch hitting in our 3-game set with them, and their outfileld defense was great. The Tigers relief pitching was much better as well. We showed better infield defense and better power hitting. I don't fall into that crap that we should have won. We lost game one just like we beat BC and ASU to get there so give the Tigers credit for a clutch 2 out double. But here is my small *** whine: Austin did not hit a LSU batter last night, those smart Tigers sold it, and the *** clown ump behind the plate (who squeezed us all night) gave it to them. We would have lost last night anyway, but it would have been a 6-4 or 7-4 score game without those HBP calls. Any honest LSU Tiger will also admit that. 11-4 looks awesome, but it was undeserved. Those two calls helped LSU to an extra 4 runs bare minimum. There, call me Aggy, but I needed to get that off my chest.

I concur all around. We got outplayed and it didn't wind up effecting anything..

but I didn't feel either one of those was legit. On the other hand, they had a batter HBP in the first inning that the ump missed. So, we got away with one early.

They called time to review Green's curveball in the dirt that hit the LSU kid on his foot, and then put him on first. Did Green hit another kid that was missed? One of the LSU runs on Mitchell's blasts came as result of a HPB. Mitchell is a beast. I DO NOT want to suggest anything about Mitchell in particular. In point, I do not think his head was abnormally large, or he was bald or anything. But his athleticism was so off the charts. He was fast as hell and strong. He is no doubt a freak of nature and truly God blessed. Just seeing an atlhlete like that does make me wonder if college baseball has a drug policy that is effective in preventing steroid usage. That kid looked better than Barry Bonds did at ASU......... but Barry hadn't juiced yet. Not every future kid can be so freakishly talented, and I wonder if the college game is set up to prevent cheating? Whether college has a good testing program or not matters not really here. I am glad as hell I never have to watch Texas pitch to Mitchell again!! That kid is a beast, period.

Well we got an awfully good replay of Wood's first HBP, it sure didn't look like the ball hit the kid, and the kid didn't act like it did either. Austin Wood shouldn't have been up and in that damned tight in the first place. But I'll eat cow dung if that ball touched the LSU batsmen.

Sorry, I was at a bar. I forgot that they put the hitter on base after the review.

and with the steroid allegations I'm out of here.. there is nothing to suggest the kid is juicing. An athlete having that kind of power, especially with a metal bat, is not that surprising.

I'm very, very hopeful that with a closer read of my post, you'll see there was no steroid allegation at all. I simply wonder if college baseball tests for the stuff like the major leagues do. I don't think congress got into the NCAA's business like it did with MLB's. Then again-screw it, I'll edit the first post. I don't want my thought to be misconstrued.
