Not Looking Ahead; Looking Forward - Tailgating for the Cal. Game

I am going to the game against Cal. in Berzerkeley. Any leads that this fine group can give me on how to ferret out Longhorn-centric game day fun for away games will be greatly appreciated.

Does the Foundation usually do anything at away games? I have an invitation to a cocktail party in SF on Friday that President Fenves will be attending, but I have other social obligations in the East Bay that evening; making my triumphant return to the stage of the Greek Theater, demanding that my falafel be served "con carne and al carbon" and reenacting the People's Park riots as a one-man show, etc.

I know that the SF Texas Exes are hosting a tailgate.

I have nothing to offer in response but wanted to acknowledge a quality post liberally seasoned with superlative punctuation and a delicious falafel reference. We could stand more of this, is what I am saying.

I have a buddy whose son played for OU in the late 90's when they played Cal, and I wasn't going miss a free trip. The quasi tailgate was on the east side of the stadium (student) side. It backs up to the Berklely Hills and they get that "GO BEARS" chant going and it keeps echoing for several minutes. Since Cal folk look at football as just a mardi gras type thing, there people were great. OU people were invited to join everyone, find of like the Grove at Ole Miss. They made OU people not into OU people. The Berklely Hills on side of stadium and the Bay of the other. Oh, and Cal won 40-36.

Poster: Uisge Beatha recently moved from Dallas to San Diego. I think he may be attending the Cal game - will alert him of this thread - maybe you guys can connect.

They are a magical and mysterious tribe. Let us sing the song of their people, and learn of their ways.

The Cal people were like the Nebraska people were until we beat them 9 times in 10 tries. When it still meant something to beat NU, before the were Northwestern's......female dog.

Thanks. I'll revisit this in a few weeks. Looks like I will be hitting the SF Texas Exes party - and maybe one hosted by some Golden Bears that is right by the stadium. Truthfully, I will likely be compelled to attend the Golden Bear one, and it may be fun and welcoming enough that I stick round. I want to have a Burnt Orange-themed backup plan in place in case the UCB-themed tailgate is a dud.
