Look: I think it is a tragedy when a mother loses her son and a life of promise is snuffed out.
But if I see another black person come on TV lamenting that their children can't safely walk the streets for fear of police violence I'm going to start yelling bad words.
If I watch another 20 minutes of CNN or MSNBC where there is no mention that slain "unarmed black teen-ager" had just strong-armed robbed a store and initiated a physical altercation with a much smaller police office, I'm not going to take those networks seriously anymore.
If your kid, like mine, doesn't walk down the middle of the street forcing to a stop traffic going both directions when there are perfectly good sidewalks, you may not have a lot to worry about. If an officer confronts me or mine or you and yours on the street, we should all know not to physically assault him, It's better to suffer a little humiliation from an angry cop (I've endured a couple) than get a bullet to the top of your head. If an officer bleeding from wounds you inflicted points a pistol and tells you to "stop" by all means stop and raise your hands. Get on the ground if he tells you to get on the ground.
If you physically confront armed authority figures, or hell even a homeowner or store clerk, you are engaging in imprudent, high-risk behavior. It doesn't matter what color your skin.
