Not Again Erxleben

As someone who was at UT and saw his 60+ yard field goals and cannon shot punts during his and my time there. It pains me to say he has done almost nothing but run scams since his NFL days.

He got in trouble in Houston before doing federal time.

A friend of mine who some people know on this board talked to me about him getting involved in the first federal offense venture which was forex trading. I told him about what had happened in Houston and that I don't think he should.

He did and became sorry he ever heard of Erxleben and his investment schemes.

The thing that bothers me most is he uses his name and his UT fame to get people to invest with him.

I don't know how anybody could take him seriously after the first couple of schemes resulted in prosecution.

NB,

I have absolutely NO sympathy for his latest victims. This is what, the third or fourth go round?

First group, I have sympathy for.

Second group. some but not as much.

The idiots from then on were NOT victims, but rather greedy ******** looking for an unreasonable return.

I haven't talked to Russell since 1987. Not sure what happened to him in business, but I am very grateful for his performance while with the Horns. He won us a lot of games and may have been the greatest kicker (combination punter & PK) in college history.

One prison term was not enough?

RE had an absolute cannon for a kicking leg. I too saw a bunch of his games in person. All his punts were booming high - one key punt was 71 yds vs ou in 1977. 67 yard NCAA record setting FG against, was it Arky or Rice? 2 key long FG's each vs. ou in '76 in 6-6 tie and '77 in 13-6 win. Kickoffs were usually out of the back of the end zone.

First round pick of the Saints, he had a punt hit the top of the structure inside the Super Dome... don't think anyone has since done that.

Unfortunately he is a legend both on and off the field.
