Northpaw?

texassports.com uses it quite a bit. I first saw it used regarding Ruffin last season; never have seen it anywhere else.

Reading the articles on that site tends to be pretty painful. Here's a real winner from the story about last night's game: "Brandon Belt deposited a solo home run over the leftfield fence with one out in the top of the seventh to coagulate the bleeding."

I think Tony Larussa made a reference using "northpaw" on TV in the 1990s during a world series post game interview, and I think that was the term's official introduction, acceptance and blessing into baseball jargon. I think it's silly. Pitchers are just righties by default unless you distinguish them as being sinister southpaws.
