UNT has played over 1,000 games and never beat a ranked team until last night. UNT never trailed despite playing OU in Norman. North Texas' head coach is former Longhorns assistant Jalie Mitchell; IIRC she was an assistant at UNT under Karen Aston and followed her to UT for a few years to level up before heading back.

Hey, Stat. UNT's win had been discussed on another thread, but didn't realize it was their first victory (ever) vs. a ranked team. Even more impressive that Coach Mitchell got that done in just her second games as a HC.

If you want to dip into the realm of sublimely amazing stats, consider this: North Texas was 5-24 last year; they only suited up nine players for the OU game, and three of their starters fouled out. OU missed 17 layups and went 0-7 from the three point line in the second half.
