with the passing of Willis Reed I got to thinking about all of the All time great bigs that called my part of the state home.........Willis Reed from Bernice (near Ruston) Robert Parish from here in S'port, the Big E Elvin Hayes from Rayville (just east of Monroe) and Karl Malone from Summerfield (near Homer).........pretty impressive list.

Back in the 80s, I was flying out of SFO back to Houston, traveling with my wife, which means I was checking lots of luggage. Large man came out to help me at the curb; my first response was, "damn you look a lot like" He said, "I know, he's my cousin. Great guy, great friend. I blew out a knee" Same size, identical looks.

For several years, I'd call him when I was flying in or out of SFO. Always got great service, but everyone thought Karl Malone was carrying my bags.
