picks st mary's over UT in 2nd round. also picked oru over pitt. - also picked sienna, s ala, and baylor to win 2 games.....
 
I've been Listening to Norm for years. He is a legitimate expert on gambling (esp horseracing)and his football picks of the pol are usually right on.

But, he has never won in the ticket fantasy leagues or basketball brackets. I think he that he overthinks these things too much
 
One year I was scrambling to fill out a bracket at the last second. I couldn't be bothered to think through everything myself, so I just filled in Norm's picks. It was far and away the worst I EVER done in any pool.

Also, the year we went to the final 4 he picked us to be beat by Florida - the Gators were upset long before the would even have met us.
 
I had the "pleasure" of sitting in a LSP suite w/ Norm a few years ago. He was hired by the owner to handicap races for the guests.

Well, this just wasn't Norm's day at the track, all his pics were getting smoked. The funny thing is there was a dude there who was absolutely cleaning up, so about halfway through the races people started listening to the other dudes' pics.

Man, I've never seen an "adult" act the way Norm did for the rest of the day. He essentially sulked in a corner, ragged on people for following the other guy (even as they were winning money) and sweated...a lot.

EDIT: He was also a class a ******** to the suite wait staff.

Maybe he was just having a bad day but I have zero respect for the guy, he acted like a 4 year old.
 
The first time I ever heard the guy was on a tv show in Dallas back during the heyday of Mustang Mania---for those of you of tender years, this was the period of time in between when SMU started paying large amounts of money for bribable football talent all over the country (and won accordingly) and when the NCAA pinned them and gave them the death penalty.

Well, ole Norm was apparently the only person in the state who had not figured out what was happening on Mockingbird and proceeded to tell us, with some enthusiasm, that Ponies coach Bobby Collins was the best coach in the Southwest Conference.

I gather he hasn't changed much
 
and now his bracket is prolly more screwed than a nyc hooker during fleet week. i still remember norm as the color commentator for the rangers back when they were aired on HSE. He'd find the most trivial little details and use them to make a point. **** like, "did you know, that when the rangers play a day game in may the day after a full moon, they're 0-4 in their last 4 games!" that's an exaggeration, but not too large of one.
 
I hate his ******* voice. I dont know if I have ever listened to more than 5 seconds of him because the ststion instantly gets changed.
