Nolan Dennis to Baylor

I liked how Drew worked his magic and got Baylor into the NIT.

Too bad he's not a better coach and isn't able to take advantage of the talent he somehow manages to bring in. His window has to be closing, before either the NCAA comes in, or he leaves for a better job. Or both.

very nice pick up the baylor bears. i usually like to see that for the big 12, but i just don't like drew.

Dennis got crushed at the UT Elite camp by Avery Bradley. They played against each other for one half and Bradley had 15pts. Dennis had 2.

He's skilled, but slow.

He's soft soft soft soft.

With he and Anthony Jones on the roster, Baylor should look into a sponsorship deal with Charmin.

He's not slow, he's just too weak to ever get by a guy like Bradley without having the elite quickness like Derrick Rose or John Wall. His skill set is off the charts though if he can put some muscle (and I mean A LOT of muscle) on.

last year was a big disappointment to Baylor fans, no doubt. The coaching staff and team did not do well under the expectations.

It was a big black-eye for Drew & Co, but I think it was also a good learning experience and something that will help going forward.

Dennis may be soft, I don't know, but I hope he's a pretty good ball handler. He's a good athlete but he isn't in Avery's class, that's for sure.

we have some depth, if he doesn't want to compete he won't get a lot of minutes.

He's really talented, bularry.

But then, so is Anthony Jones. Nolan Dennis will make a much bigger impact as a freshman than Jones did --- which obviously isn't saying much. He's a huge pickup for Baylor, so it's unfair of me to discount him. I was just surprised with how unwilling to compete Dennis was for so much of his prep career. Maybe Drew will get the most out of him. I don't know.

There's a lot of potential there, that's for sure.

I'm surprised at the discounting of this.

Personally, I think Baylor has made huge strides with their program. They have seen they won't be able to be a major player in the football arena and have dedicated themselves to be a great basketball school, which can be achieved at a smaller school.

An NIT finals certainly helps with national exposure more than a one and done in the NCAA's. I don't know about being a fool if you don't see that, but there's definitely a problem with your processing.

Huge pickup that's great for Baylor's program and great for the strength of the Big XII.

I like this for Baylor. The fact that Texas wasn't really going after him helps me to feel good about this. Dennis is a good player. He's not elite, but he's a skilled guard with size, which is something that Baylor hasn't had in 4 years plus. They're definitely on the upswing, even with the disappointing regular season. Baylor has Perry Jones coming in next year. With Nolan Dennis this year, they're doing well on the recruiting front.

There is no way that this isn't a great pickup for Baylor. If they were to narrow their recruiting down to only guys who wouldn't get schooled by AB, they probably wouldn't be able to continue their program.

Yeah, I really wish Drew would leave next year for a better job so we could pick up Perry Jones, we could use a big man for the next few years (Tristan is a 4 and could easily be gone after one year and all of our other recruits are guards). Jones looks like a great talent inside.

No, he IS slow. It wasn't just against Avery. His match up with Garland Judkins (now at AZ) was equally as lopsided. He lacked the quickness or speed to get by them.

Now, he does show great skills and is still a good pick up for Baylor, but I would have been disappointed if he was coming to UT.

BU just added another talented wing this weekend. Mark McLaughlin, 6-5, 185, supposedly silky smooth shooter from Washington and went to prep school in New Hampshire this past year.

Previously committed to Nevada. 4 star by rivals, 3 star by scout.

Anyone seen him? Seems more of what Drew is looking for, a long range shooter to hang out on the perimeter and jack 3s all game
