Noise Boone Picken Stadium

So since it is considerably smaller than DKR. would the mouse be equated to OU side of Cotton bowl? I have never been to Stillwater, so other than the students banging paddles, not real familiar.
Seems like we handled noise at TT, just worried about tomorrow.

It is loud because the fans are seated on the team benches. Seriously, most of the noise is because the fans are only a few feet from the sidelines. The wind is expected to be out of the SSW between 20-25 mph, meaning that the noise will be heard in Joplin but no worse than it was in Lubbock.

IIRC, they put the students behind the visitors bench to enhance the noise level. Having played in The Cotton Bowl, and experiencing our home crowd this year, I don't think noise should be that much of a factor.

60,000 isn't a small stadium, and the stands are VERY close to the field. I've never been either, but it always seems loud and rowdy on TV.

Been there once. Also Lubbock for a big game. To me Stillwater is more intimidating. That big brick wall on the south end — too close to the field — reflects the sound back into the stadium. But, a 2:30 start is better than a 7:00 start.

It’s an architecturally pleasing structure. And yes, they have a bunch of yahoos banging paddles against the wall. I think they copied that one from OU. They also waive the wheat with their arms. I think they copied that one from Kansas. They also do a gun hand sign. I think they copied that one from Tech. Now all they need is a really huge drum or a cow so they could copy us.

The biggest factor today may be the wind. It’s anywhere from 30-40 mph right now. You will probably see a lot of running one quarter and a lot of passing the other quarter.

I’m glad Ewers is from Dallas. He grew up throwing in wind.
