Thoughts?

I thought it was fun. Maybe a little too campy/cheesy during parts, as if they tried to shove too much humor into the movie.

But overall, I really enjoyed this movie. I took it for what it was supposed to be, a summer entertainment movie.

It was good to hear Frank Welker's voice back as Soundwave.

It was curious how the edit to Brawl's name in the first movie never made it into the actual film. the credits show the robot as Brawl, but I guess Bay liked the name Devastator better. But most people won't pick up that the tank's name was supposed to be Brawl in the first movie, and Devastaor is the obvious Constructicon combo robot.

Optimus!!

Don't have much interest in seeing the sequel, but I thought the first had some decent special effects. The dialogue and humor in that one seemed to be geared towards the middle school level audience.

It has some humor here and there. Too much action that unlike the first did not have the cool new feel to it. The plot was pathetic and one can only imagine how bad the next one will be. Megan Fox is only there to provide some eye candy, but does it very well. So if you can catch it at a low cost matinee there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours but certainly not worth full price and really loses what value it has on a small screen.

Hmm...I didn't really care for the first one. I was wondering what people thought of the second.

Nothing reinforces the disconnect I have with ... everyone ... better than the rampant popularity of Michael Bay's movies.

Saw it last night at the drive-in with neighbors who invited us. I had not done my homework beforehand, but quickly learned that some content was WAY too mature for my kids & those of the other family [6-10]; but the film as a whole was too juvenile for the 4 grownups. I was bored to tears, and it's LONG, like nearly 3 hours long.

Sincerely,

Old Guy

yet this P.O.S. ( i presume, i haven't seen it) has already grossed $200,000,000.00 in 1 week.

I've never understood why people expect a "masterpiece" every time they go to the theater.

I took 5 boys, ages 11-13 yesterday, caught the final "matinee priced" showing. They loved it, and I was reasonably entertained, which is pretty much my standard when going to see a movie like this.

its not that they expect or can even judge masterpiece movies, its all about a subliminal shaming to say you enjoyed it for what it was....or that your intellect didnt get in the way of getting a buzz on, watching megan fox booty and robots kick some ***...
for the record, I havent seen it. i do want to. i dont expect much. and probably wont be disappointed.

Transformers were awesome toys to get for the boys when they were young. I have not seen the movie but I expect it to be awesome.

Saw it and it's hard to remember anything other than the curve of Megan Fox's *** cheek when she's airbrushing something on a bike. It was entertaining enough, but I started looking at my watch about halfway through thinking it should've ended by now.

Not much different than the first one, except I was nostalgic for Transformers when the first one came out.

Personally, I dug it. But I get out to see a movie maybe twice a year because with a 2.5 year old, it costs > $60 to see a flick, so we wait for visits to grandma to do this.

I ended up seeing it tonight, against my better judgment. I thought it was awful.

And to the people responsible for marketing it to the younger audiences: shame on you.

Went to see it with the kids (10-17) right after it opened. They liked it a lot. I thought it was OK, but agree that it was too long.
We saw it on the IMAX at the Bullock. First time to see a non-science/documentary at an IMAX -- I've decided that's now the only way to see an action movie.
And Megan Fox looks great on the giant IMAX screen
