I think it's great.

anyone who has setanta or FSC will get ot see jozy this year. not to mention how much easier it is to get EPL news.

i'm pumped, hope he has a great season!

I think it's a great move for Jozy. Hopefully he'll get a lot of PT.

Setanta won't be showing any EPL games this year - they lost the broadcast rights. ESPN has them now. I don't know what the availability in the US will be, but I think they're creating a new channel in the UK.

setanta usa is unaffected, that mishap was for UK broadcasting rights.

still, looking forward to him getting some good work!!!

Ditto. The news that Setanta USA is UNAFFECTED will probably need to be posted daily until ~December. Thanks for doing your best.

this years rights for what setanta shows will NOT be affected.

The US rights for the Premier League are up for bidding soon, october i think, and i'm pretty sure you can expect SetantaUS to not win that one.

They will not have any studio shows to broadcast from the UK, but every EPL game they have the rights to they are still showing, just like last year.

here is what I was referring to:
ESPN gets PL rights

there is speculation they could get first pick for the 10am ET games when there isn't a 7:45 as well.

I guess there hasn't been a formal announcement yet but maybe they are waiting until the USA-Mexico game in a few days. Looking at my DVR, the early Saturday game on Setanta (Chelsea-Hull) has already been removed.

hadn't been on epltalk in a while, that is amazing news.

great stuff, thanks for the link!!!!

Maybe setanta is trying to squeeze out every last dime the US division is making!

late last night they finally made the announcement. Chelsea-Hull, in glorious HD on ESPN2 right now

no Jozy though because of work permit crap

other plusses from espn coverage:

british announcers that actually know teams other than the big 4... no Marcelo trying to explain the strengths and weaknesses of Hull's back four

very little use of the espn ticker at the bottom of the screen. Seems like it only pops in once every 10 minutes or so.

here is the potential lineup for ESPN games through the next few months. They potentially could also have their pick of the 10am ET games on weeks when there is no 7:45 game (we'll see next week I guess.)
